SP Advisors strengthens London presence by acquiring a stake in Beaufort International Associates Limited ("BIAL")

SP Advisors, a Kyiv-based investment firm, have acquired a stake in London-based investment bank BIAL. In addition SP Advisors have provisionally agreed to strengthen post-transaction synergies with Beaufort Securities Ltd (a subsidiary of BIAL) in both London and Kyiv.

Clients of SP Advisors planning to float shares on the London Stock Exchange or the LSE's AIM junior market will now be able to complete the listing without the involvement of other consultants. The partnership with Beaufort, a member of the London Stock Exchange, allows SP Advisors to provide a portfolio of services traditionally offered by a range of investment consultants thus increasing efficiency and lowering costs for Eastern European issuers. The deal will also change the process of subscriptions by UK-based investors in Ukrainian equities by granting greater access to investment opportunities from the region. Ukrainian securities will now be available not only to investment funds, but also to Beaufort's extensive network of over 24,000 retail investors. SP Advisors' clients also gain access to the Beaufort's trading systems and clearing house, which will significantly reduce trading fees and commissions.

"This deal carries significant opportunities for both companies. Beaufort's impressive base of investors will offer an additional pillar of market support for Ukrainian issuers in London.  During an IPO the lead managers will look to allocate a minimum 8-10% of a new share issue to individual investors if there is sufficient investor interest. Moreover, Ukrainian investors looking for access to the London market will now have a one stop shop to do so. Our new partner also gains access to potential issuers from Ukraine, Georgia, and other Eastern European countries, as well as significant professional expertise in the region. And this is only the beginning. Our development strategy over the next year will see us make further moves to expand our platform of services for our clients," said Nick Piazza, CEO of SP Advisors.

"We have been seeking an exciting expansion opportunity in Eastern Europe for some time and I'm very pleased to partner with SP Advisors. I am confident our partnership will open the London market to new issuers from Ukraine. The deal combines the strength of the retail and institutional investor segments, and offers companies from Eastern Europe direct access to the London Stock Exchange via a single platform," added Tanvier Malik, CEO of Beaufort Securities.

Beaufort Securities (a subsidiary of BIAL) is a UK-based investment bank and brokerage firm founded in 1992. Beaufort offers brokerage services, wealth management, and investment banking services with a focus on the London Stock Exchange's AIM LSE sub-market.
